People use this site at the moment they're working out what a home will really cost: the taxes, legal fees, mortgage and money transfer. If you help buyers at that stage, a sponsorship puts you in front of them, on the pages for the country and the situation you serve.
Who visits
- Buyers checking the full cost before they make an offer: first-time buyers, people moving home, second-home buyers and landlords.
- People buying from abroad: for example from the UK into Spain, Portugal, France or Dubai, or from abroad into the UK, US, Canada and Australia. They need local lawyers, notaries, mortgage brokers and currency transfer.
- Homeowners checking what their home could be worth today, often before selling or remortgaging.
- Seven languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch.
Where your name can appear
- Country sponsor. Your listing on every buying-costs page for one country (and its regions), in every language, shown next to the results. One sponsor per country, so you're not sharing the space.
- Buying-from-abroad route. Your listing on a route page, such as "Buying in Spain from the UK" or "Buying in the UK from Nigeria", where buyers face the most questions.
- Guide sponsor. Your listing on a guide, such as buying property in Portugal or stamp duty for non-UK residents.
- "Get quotes" partner. Your service as the next step for buyers in one country or on one route. Mortgage, lawyer, currency, insurance and selling-agent spaces show two partners side by side, and survey and tax spaces show one. Mortgage partners also appear on the "Can I afford it?" and "Rent or buy" tools, and estate agents on "Cost of selling". You can also take a whole category on your own.
Every sponsorship is a fixed monthly price, paid securely online. It renews each month and you can cancel at any time. There are no clicks to count and no bidding.
Our rules
- Clearly labelled. Sponsored content is always marked "Sponsored" and never looks like our own figures.
- It never changes the numbers. Results are worked out from official rates, the same for every visitor, whoever sponsors the page.
- Relevant and properly regulated only. We accept lawyers, notaries, conveyancers, surveyors, brokers, insurers, currency providers and estate agents that are authorised where they need to be. In the UK, mortgage introductions go only through an FCA-authorised broker.
- Checked before going live. We look up every regulated partner on the public register (for example the FCA, SRA, RICS or the local equivalent) and check the company is real and active, before anything goes live, and again from time to time while it runs.
- No misleading claims. We don't publish reviews or ratings written for a sponsor, or wording that promises results.
- Our choice. We may decline or end a sponsorship that doesn't fit these rules.
